Susan is the fourth generation Jackson to commit to public service in the Bermuda Parliament. She approaches public service with a deep sense of responsibility and believes trust is the most important ingredient for effective representation and that trust must be earned.

Susan Jackson has been a Member of Parliament, Bermuda, since December 2012 and has held the position of H  ouse Whip and is presently Shadow Minister for Transport and Shadow for Seniors. She sits on the Public Accounts Committee, Committee of Chairs and Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (Women’s Board). She sat on the joint select committees to review and amend sex offender legislation, financial assistance legislative review and sat on the Bermuda College Board of Governors.

Susan was elected OBA Party Deputy Chair in 2014. In 2015, Susan was appointed interim Party Chair following the premature departure of Party Chair, Thad Hollis.

Professionally, Susan’s career in corporate communications spans thirty years and includes Belco, Keytech (BTC, Logic) and HSBC. Susan also served as a Speech Therapist for the Department of Education before migrating to Washington DC where she raised her family. She volunteered and taught in the Montgomery County, Maryland school system before returning home with her children.

Her community service includes President of the Parliamentary Diabetes Global Network (PDGN), Westmeath Nursing Home, Board Member. Former Board Chairman and Governance Receiver at Summerhaven, a residence for people living in wheelchairs. Susan is a former President of the Bermuda Chapter of the International Women’s Forum.

Educated in Bermuda, England and the United States, Susan attended Williston-Northampton Academy, Massachusetts and decades later was appointed to the school’s Board of Trustees. She has a BSc. in Speech from Emerson College, Boston, Massachusetts and holds professional designations from Communication, Advertising and Marketing (CAM) Education Foundation in London, England.

Susan has two married children, Scott (Ashley) and Samantha (Nicholas) and enjoys running, reading, travel and puzzles. One of her memorable adventures was living on a 45ft yacht in Dockyard for three years.
