Michael Fahy, JP Senator, Shadow Minister for Environment, Planning & Housing
Michael believes that everyone living in Bermuda can and should give something back to their community, whether it is through politics, sport, charity or other avenues. To this end, Michael regularly gives free legal advice to those in need. On an annual basis, Michael also provides guidance and feedback to some of the Island’s youngest and brightest stars as a judge in the inter-school debate competition.
Michael is an Attorney, Notary Public, Justice of the Peace and Accredited Mediator. Michael obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from McMaster University in Ontario and his Post Graduate Diploma in Law at the College of Law, Guildford. Michael was a Senator and Shadow Minister for Transport, Energy and Telecommunications from 2008 to 2009 and was a Commissioner on the Commission for Unity and Racial Equality in 2008. He also served as Chairman of the BDA. He has sat on various Bermuda Bar Association sub committees and organised the Hector Barcilon Memorial Moot for law students for six years, which gives aspiring advocates a chance to hone their skills before members of the local judiciary. He is currently a Senior Vice President and Bermuda Legal Counsel for a large captive management company.
Since catching the travelling bug at an early age, Michael is always on a quest to visit somewhere new and exciting so he can try unique foods and experience different cultures. Michael is an Arsenal fan but does not seem to have as much time as he would like to watch them play. However, Michael’s greatest joy and reward comes from spending time with his wife and three children.
Michael believes that the OBA has the skills and experience required to form the next Government. |
